| After reading my sibling's and friend's xangas which they have ever so faithful to update. I am left feeling guilty for not writing an entry for many many many days. So here's what has happened in the last few months in a very tight, compact, nutshell.
1. As much as this sounds like a formulated testimony of some sort, it is not. I am so happy because God has let me get to know him more and more through everyday experiences, friends who sincerely care about me, and through the simple reading of the Bible. I have realized the huge importance (and excitement!) of real, honest, and steady communication with the Lord. God has been incredibly good.
2. School work has gone on as usual. Most of my classes are decent, but I especially like the music classes like music theory, where we're going through the history of mainstream and jazz music (interesting!).
3. The rockin' continues! Here's the majority of what I've been listening to: Dream Theater Pink Floyd Badly Drawn Boy Jimi Hendrix
Yes, I know. Progressive Rock (Escept for BDB). Hey, its good stuff!
This summer I'm hoping to go to Chicago, I'm not sure if I have my ticket yet! That'd be awesome. Hope it works out! | | |
| This is my first post in over a month. Due to new school firewalls, many common websites, including xanga and myspace, have been blocked and no longer possible to access. and you probably thought I was just being lazy...ha! (that too) | | |
| Fall break was wonderful. My parents and I made our getaway to a resort in Southern Cebu Island. We were expecting bad weather because of the forecast, but it never rained the entire time we were there. The entire time was relaxing. We went snorkeling (got a bad sunburn and now my back is shredded), labored for hours over various sudoku puzzles, watched a movie and occasionally, just sat and did nothing. Another successful beach trip! | | |
| Steve Irwin died. I saw this yesterday on fox news and couldn't believe it. My hero the great crocodile hunter has been a victim of a sting ray attack. Apparantly, victims of sting rays are rare. What happened? The tail of the sting ray went through Steve's chest like bayonet according to the news. This makes me sad. I salute you Steve Irwin, king of not only the crocodiles, but of enthusiasm and excitement! Crikey! | | |
| Almost everyday for about two weeks now my dormie and I have gotten up about an hour and a half before school to read a chapter or two of the bible, and then to pray. This was painful at first, because I am a late sleeper...(But I'm okay now heh) Right outside our dorm is a small bamboo hut and we walk out, sit, and read, taking turns. Every once in a while we stop and talk about what we read and if its confusing, try and think about it during the day. As simple as this little routine sounds, it has been a great start to each day! From the very beginning of the day, my heart is on God and I am focused on him. We either read from proverbs or the gospels, so that day we both try to apply what we learned.
I just want others to join now because it is a wonderful thing to do, so please pray that the Lord will open up an opportunity for me to invite more people.
